While the call of God was burning in Pastor Martin’s heart, he and his wife Stacey, would have frequent times of prayer along with discussions about future ministry. Many times they discussed what they heard many people say …There’s got to be a better way of living. Hence, through prayer and leading of the Spirit, the name, Better Way Bible Church was birthed. In April of 1990 the ministry of Better Way began with only immediate family in attendance. Pastor Martin persevered Sunday after Sunday with a mid-week Prayer and Bible Study. A few family members and friends began to come and all were enlightened by the Word of God. In 1991 Better Way Bible Church moved to Heavenly Hall located in West Philadelphia. During the week it was a day care, and on Sunday it was transformed into “a place of worship”. The Word of God went forth for three years there. Again, the Lord inspired Pastor Martin to broaden his scope, and Better Way Bible Church moved to its first church building at 5104 Lancaster Avenue in West Philadelphia, where service was held until 2004.


The Here and Now …

In January 2004, Better Way Bible Church moved to its current location. We now have two properties side-by-side – We have expanded our Missions Outreach and have planted a new church in Liberia, West Africa.


Where Do We Go From Here?

Renovation of our building at 506-518 shall take place to house our new sanctuary and classrooms. We will continue to be a light in our Jerusalem, called Philadelphia, raising up ministers and ministries to do kingdom business in the Delaware Valley. In addition to building up Better Way Bible Church Liberia, we also plan to establish churches in Ghana and Nigeria. The future is brighter and brighter. Jesus Christ has given us a Better Way!
